This is for all you sneaker freaks out there: Jude Law has been rocking this pair of customized Nikes by Beatrix Ong and now you can too. Ong has been working overtime to make her eccentric shoes available to people all over by, first, opening her new concept store in London's Newburgh Quarter, a section of town that is a hotbed for stylish retailers, and second, by launching an e-commerce site this week where you can get all the goods—including these Nikes, whose colors and stenciling are stunning (the birds are literally flying off the sneaker). Finally, sneakers you can take flight in!

Music and fashion were in perfect harmony last night at the Lincoln Center Young Patrons Society’s annual Fall Masquerade Gala, co-hosted by non-profit Music Unites. Kerry Washington took the stage at Alice Tully Hall and offered a tribute to Georgina Chapman, noting the designer’s operatic influences (Marchesa’s spring 2010 line took a note from Madame Butterfly). Then, Santigold introduced the evening’s other honoree, dapper DJ-producer Mark Ronson, who joined protégé Daniel Merriweather for a live concert that included the pair's popular cover of the Smiths' "Stop Me," from Ronson's 2007 album Version (Ronson also produced Merriweather’s new release, Love & War). “This is an incredibly prestigious award and it feels a bit premature in my career, but I’m grateful,†Ronson modestly observed, joking “I don’t know who to thank—people always thank Harvey Weinstein, and he actually is in the building tonight.â€

Guess? is growing and growing and to celebrate the opening of its London flagship store on Regent Street, the brand has put together a retrospective of their hottest international commodity: the Guess? girls. Really, images of these girls in the company's adverts have haunted us with their sexy stances and seductive glares for years, from Anna Nicole Smith to Adriana Lima, Guess? has always been causing a ruckus with its girls.
Paul Marciano, the company's creative director, said, "The Guess? girl has to be unknown and has to embody the spirit and sexiness of the brand." They have definitely succeeded in that department, don't you think?
If you want to embody a bit of the brand's sexiness, and check out the new flagship, then head over to the Regent Street store where a photographic exhibition of all the famous advertisements is now up until November 2nd.

As an adult, my Halloween track record isn’t the best—up until a few years ago, my go-to costume was a black cat. Okay, granted, each year my token feline getup got progressively more scandalous (like every twentysomething girl, I went through a slutty-costume phase). But the past couple of Halloweens I’ve tried to be more creative. Two years ago, I went dressed as (a less scantily clad) Jennifer Beals from Flashdance. To mimic her mass of ringlets, I twisted my damp hair into a million different braids the night before and let them all hang loose the next day. (An oversized sweatshirt combined with funky leggings and legwarmers and I was ready to bust a move!) Last year, I let my dork flag fly high and dressed as Summer Glau’s female terminator from the now-canceluxurylived TV show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Using fake blood and silver eye shadow I attempted to create a terminator-like wound around my eye, but only succeeded in looking like a victim of skin-eating bacteria. Nevertheless, my black biker jacket and the “come with me if you want to live†logo emblazoned across my t-shirt provided some fellow sci-fi nerds with clues…
So now we come to this year—as you may have seen, I went to the M.A.C Pro Store in Chelsea to get transformed into Lady Gaga for eluxurylive.com's Halloween Makeover video. As much as I love her music, though, I’m not sure I want to be Gaga for Halloween. Because, for one thing, I’m sure I’ll get upstaged by some fabulous-looking drag queen (according to the M.A.C Pro Store, most of the Lady Gaga makeup requests have come from men!). Which leaves me between a rock and a hard place—or does it? The other day, I was hit with the idea of being (again, a more conservative version) of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. You know, when she’s hot off Sunset Boulevard and waltzes into the fancy-schmantzy hotel for the first time. Though I’ll pass on baring my non-existent six-pack, over-the-knee boots are hot right now and I think that, combined with my wig, it could make for a good combo. On the other hand, I’m still superobsessed with the Mad Men era and could easily turn out a Twiggy or Edie Sedgwick look.
What direction do you think I should go? Or, better yet, do you have any more ideas on how I can utilize my white-blond bob from Ricky’s NYC? Let me know!
