Just in case it wasn’t clear from her glamorous shoot for Elle France, this pictorial for Zoo magazine should serve to reinforce the fact: Lily Cole still has it.

One of the things I’ll eternally envy about fashionisers of the fairer sex is that during the Summer months remaining fashionable can seem so effortless. The right Summer dress and the look can be perfect. As we have below. A cream and white dress from PHI (far more toned down than Tania’s PHI investment) paired with tan man-style wingtips and hair casually placed in a pony-tail all converge to concede that Summer is often better spent on the beach than in a city.

Proving feathers can still work for Fall, Famous magazine’s Sadaf was spotted at Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) wearing this ensemble. The feather detail along the shoulders is just subtle enough, and the pocketed skirt works beautifully. Vanessa Jackman was behind the lens.

In Prescott, AZ there is a boutique called Fancy That.  It’s a fun place that sells antiques and made to look antique items. The owners are friendly and remember you, which is unusual in a town that has tons of tourists.  I go there periodically to see what they have, and sometimes they have something I can’t live without.   I found something.

How cute is this?

They had a whole section of cards that were shoe related.  This is the get well card.  The inside says, “A pair of new shoes…the best medicine for what ails you.    Feel Better Girlfriend.”   Sometimes after wearing heels all day,  my feet feel like they need a pair of shoes like this.

This comes from a line of cards called Head Over Heels designed by Barbara Music.  There are monogramed cards, greeting cards, note cards and sticky pads with shoe drawings.  They are all quite elaborate drawings. The web site has more than just cards.  She has t-shirts with shoe designs makes custom wedding shoes, and has classes that teaches how to make sandals.  I am still trying to figure how to get myself to New York  to take classes from Llorraine Neithardt.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve purchased anything from the Coach brand.   For me, the brand simply became too mass marketed and banal.  My sentiments were further hightened when counterfeiters started imitating the trademark “C” logo on bags, footwear, etc.

This is why I’m glad that Coach has started to step out with different styles.  First it started when Coach launched the girly Poppy line.  I’m also quite fond of these cap-toe flats with jumbled “Coach” ornament on the toe.   The shoes are cute and clearly Coach, but different than the typical Coach styles.

The Coach Lauren flat is available at Coach.com for $158.

Lee Carr’s song Stilettos is a little bit ridiculous but also addictive. I hear it in my gym when I’m wearing my beat-up old sneaks and smile thinking of the stilettos I’ll change into in the evening.

I think he should have another contest like this one that he did. Like Ashanti said, when you want to make your boyfriend appreciate you and realize again how hot you are, don’t hestitate to reach for your stilettos!

Just a quick question for our readers:

How do you feel about Alexander Wang’s cutout heel?

Alexander Wang ‘Anouck Beatle’ boot $595 at Shopbop, Barneys & Alexander Wang

(It also comes in black)

Alexander Wang ‘Kori Chain’ flat booties $550 at Shopbop & Alexander Wang.

I am still mulling this over, but am curious what others think.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Wait, I changed my mind. I’m a heavy walker & that heel doesn’t look safe enough for my tastes. I’m more than slightly afraid that I would snap that baby right off on the downstep, even with a little bit of what looks like metallic reinforcement.

I’m not certain exactly how I feel about Robert Clergerie’s shoe designs. Clergerie shoes tend to be playful -  with unusual sole designs and non-typical silhouettes.

They are interesting styles, but I’m not sure I would find myself actually wearing them very often. Let’s say that I like them, but that for whatever reason, they don’t  ‘feel like me’.

But, if you, unlike me, are wont to wear chunky, funky or mod-styled shoes that stand out from the crowd , some of these sale-priced Clergerie shoes might be your perfect match.

Robert Clergerie ‘Mannor’ $395 $118.30 at 6pm.com and $217.77 at Endless.com

Robert Clergerie ‘Monday’ $450 $135.10 at 6pm.com

Robert Clergerie ‘Houle’ $625 $241.20 at 6pm.com and $343.72 at Endless.com

Robert Clergerie ‘Diof’ $565 $339 at 6pm.com & $310.72 at Endless.com

Robert Clergerie ‘Dahra’ $684 $411 at 6pm.com

Robert Clergerie ‘Frofro’ $694.95 $333 at Zappos.com and Endless.com

I do appreciate designers who buck trends.  I suspect that in the case of Clergerie, I just haven’t found my own ideal shoe-match yet – Although, that  ‘Dahra’ d’orsay wedge does comes awfully close.

Women’s Wear Daily has a preview of twenty-one spring 2011 shoe sketches.  According to the mag, we can look forward to new level of sophistication with designers adding “femininity to chunkier silhouettes using painterly prints and exotic details. Architectural constructions also continue to build a following, while contrasting textures liven up the season’s best styles.”

These are my favorite two looks.  For the complete set of sketches, view them online at WWD.

Pre-fall 2010 shoes have begun to arrive in department stores.   For the non-retail shopper in me that translates into sales on the spring/summer collection to make room for the new footwear.  Most department stores discount their merchandise in June and started pre-sales in May so much of the selection has already been reserved, but it never hurts to see what you’ll find in stores.  Here are some of my favorites:

At Nordstroms, our contact tells us most of the Louboutins have already been sold.  That’s okay by me.  I’m crushing over these Miu Miu jeweled flats (the picture is in tan but if you like dark rose they are on sale for $355 (originally $595).

Nordstroms also a Chanel thong in silver (picture is to demonstrate the silhouette only) on sale for $339, down from $575.  Sizes are extremely limited.   If you are interested in finding out which cruise/summer styles on on sale, please email us at admin@shoeblog.com or our Nordstroms SA Henry at hirbod74@yahoo.com.

Not to be outdone, Net-A-Porter has 5 pages worth of sale shoes.

These beautiful Alexander McQueen strappies, which Sarah Jessica Parker wore on the press circuit for the SATC2 movie, are on sale for 40% off  or $555.

Net-A-Porter even has a pair of Louboutins, the Miss Chief on sale for 50% off or $400.

Barneys.com also has a few decent shoe sales as well.  But be forewarned, I’ve had orders cancelled due to lack of inventory.  These square toed Lanvin pumps with ankle strap are now $414, down from over $1000.

Happy shoe shopping everyone!  And for those of you who do find a great shoe, please share with us over on the forums.  We promise not to have too much shoe envy.
